I start to challenge the minimum constraints I mentioned in previous story (day 1) . Now it is still in the bed but not in the night. It is still in the morning, morning sleep routine. A very powerfull nap that can only be performed at the weekend. Some constraints are still fullfiled like using smartphone and not serious computers to focus in the writing and not read references first before writing. That’s all the introduction for this morning story. Let’s back to the title about house or home.

I find a house is just a place where you live, which is more to the physical structure and what it apears before you eyes. You can buy and sell a house, or just rent it when you are still not sure about it.

But a home is different. It is more abstract. You can have a home which is not in your house, e.g. you were born in the village and spent your childhood at grandparent house, they your parent move to city due to work. You experience more years at your grandparent house than at your parent house. The former is home, while the later is (still house).

I believe that the evolution stage is from house to home and not in the reverse direction. You can have a new house but not yet a home. It might evolve to home or it never be since you have to move to the next new house due to some circumstences.

You can not sell a home, it will be there or it will fade away in time when you no longer have access to it (sold or something else).

There was a question from the daugter, when we will be back to our home at Dortmund. She was to young to know that when we were visiting her grandma, it was a one-way journey. There is no coming back since my deployment to the city was over. It was very sad to hear that.

I think some people at work from Monday to Friday and still have casual meeting with colleagues or clients on Saturday, then some shopping, eating, or outdoor activities on Sunday. The pattern repeats itself in the next week. So, when they really at home a day and night (24 hours straight)? I believe that they are living at their house, not yet their home.

Weekend at home (not at house) indicates that the people live there are living there, not just sleep at night. It is not a capsule hotel or internet cafe with bed. A home is more than a house.

For a truck driver or a traveller with home-car (or caravan, I forget the term — and not searhing it due to the constraints 🤣), the vehicle might be more home than their real house where their address sticks to. Or it would be simply the bag for backpackers, or trolly for homeless fellows.

Some people even spend time more at work that at their house, e.g. they have 2 hours for out-trip, 10 hours in bench at work, 2 hours for in-trip, and still outting for breakfast and dinner. They just use the house as a place for sleeping, showering, keeping their stuffs. Is it not more than a locker at the station?

That’s is one reason that I like to stay at home in the weekend. I like to have a home not just a house. A time duration to stay about 50 hours straight is desireable. Small activities around the neighborhood still counts to the duration. Thank you for your patience reading this story.
